Collaboration with choreographer Korhan Basaran, musician Ivan Shopov and film director Osman Nuri Iyem.
Charlie Caplin’s globe scene from The Great Dictator inspired us to create the short performance movie Dictator of The World. Korhan and I took this famous scene as a starting point and developed a unique solo improvisation, a play between the protagonist and a transparent balloon filled with plastic waste. Ivan Shopov created the soundtrack by mixing sounds recorded from my 3D printer and beehives.
Dictator of The World was the vertex of the narrative of waste, power, and ecological crises I explored in my solo show Waste, curated by Firat Arapoglu in Collect Gallery in Istanbul.
