dance theatre performance, 2016
Dior in Moscow is a dance theatre performance by Agnija Šeiko and Ingrid Gerbutavičiūtė from Lithuania, created after their Identity!Move research residency in Prague in 2014. Dior in Moscow explores the identity of Soviet and post-Soviet women based on Aneta Pavlenko’s article Socioeconomic Conditions and Discursive Construction of Women’s Identities in Post-Soviet Countries, as well as interviews with Lithuanian and Czech women.
Dior in Moscow attempts to capture the transformation of the definition of the feminine in post-socialist societies.
Šeiko and Gerbutavičiūtė worked with Albena Baeva on Dior in Moscow, who created the video environment for the performance.
